Description
The course will provide basic information about the development, personality and behaviour of children of preschool age. This knowledge is the foundation for understanding the AMI Montessori approach to organising home environments and children's groups, choosing developmental aids and activities, interacting with children and overcoming developmental crises. -
Upon successful completion of the course, an international AMI diploma is issued

- Introduction to the Montessori Method
- Basic knowledge about children 0-6 and how they learn: the child's mind up to the age of 6 (indicating the sensory periods); movement up to the age of 6 and its importance for the child; language, language development and bilingualism.
- Independence and its development; socio-cultural development of the child.
- Prepared environment: creation of a prepared environment at home and in educational institutions.
- Freedom and discipline. Montessori understanding of freedom
- Formation of discipline as part of inner development
- Observations and their significance
- The role of adults in supporting development from a Montessori perspective: practical advice on how to communicate with children; the role of the assistant in the Montessori classroom; practical advice for parents.
- Psychological development: development of personality, temperament and self-esteem; attachment theory.
Independent work includes hands-on work on materials, writing and assignments.
Observations are an important part of Montessori education, allowing a deeper understanding of the principles of Montessori education and an appreciation of their application in practice. The format and schedule of observations will be announced at the course.
Upon successful completion of the course, an international AMI diploma is issued.
To receive a diploma, a student must:
• attend at least 90% of classes,
• successfully complete all course assignments and pass exams,
• conduct the required observation hours and submit an observation report,
• produce and submit didactic material.

Thanks to the course, I, as a parent, have become more aware of my child's needs at each stage of development. My own perception of my child's abilities at this age and the role of the adult in the child's development has changed.
